Sedan Alfa Romeo 155, which replaced the model 75 in 1992, was created "under the wing" of the concern Fiat. Instead of the original rear-wheel drive chassis, the car received a front-drive platform from the Fiat Tempra model.
The car was equipped with petrol eight-valve motors 1.7 (115 hp), 1.8 (129 hp) and 2.0 (143 hp), as well as a V6 engine with a capacity of 2.5 liters and a power of 166. There were two turbodiesels in the model line - 1.9 and 2.5, developing 92 and 125 forces respectively. In 1995, the production of restyling machines began. The cars had a wider front and rear track, and under the hood there were modernized sixteen-valve engines: 1.6 (120 hp), 1.8 (140 hp) and 2.0 (150 hp).
In 1998, the Alfa Romeo 156 replaced the "one hundred and fifty-fifth".
