When creating the Alfa Romeo GT coupe, which was produced from 2004 to 2010, the sedan platform was used 156. The car had a front-wheel drive and was equipped with petrol engines 1.8 TS (140 hp), 2.0 JTS (165 hp), and the powerful was the modification of V6 3.2, which develops 240 forces. Also on the coupe put turbodiesel 1.9 JTD with a capacity of 150 or 170 hp. depending on the version. The transmission was mechanical or robotic. In 2006, there was a version of the Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 JTD Q2 with a self-locking differential in the drive of the first wheels.
In addition to the common with the 156th and 147th models of the platform, the Alfa Romeo GT adopted many technical solutions from the "relatives". For example, the design of the front and rear suspension was almost identical to that of the mentioned models, with the only difference being that for the GT, as for the sports model, it was understated and made more rigid.
The model was equipped with three petrol (volume 1.8, 2.0 and 3.2 liters) and one diesel (1.9 liter) engines. Until 2005, the engines were aggregated with a 5-speed manual, or with a selective robotic Selespeed transmission. In 2005, the car was equipped with a 6-speed "mechanics", which was completed with versions with a 3.2 liter engine.
In 2008, engineers upgraded the 1.9 liter diesel unit, increasing its capacity from 150 to 170 horsepower, while it became more economical and environmentally friendly than the "predecessor."
