Audi C5 A6 Brake Systems
The Audi A6 is a business class car manufactured by the German automaker Audi AG. He replaced Audi 100 in 1994. A6 is produced in the city of Neckarsulm, Germany. Available in body sedan and station wagon.
In 1994, the Audi 100 (which was manufactured since 1968), was subjected to regular upgrading and received the name Audi A6, for example, steel conveyor on the same year Audi A8 and Audi A4. At the same time, the car received a new range of engines and some new elements of the body (headlights, grille, bumpers, changed hood shape and radiator grille drawing, the front turn indicators changed their color from orange to milky white. The tail lights became wider (on the right even moved a folding side trunk from the bottom of the door, a "solid" head restraint, a redundant turn signal on the front wings, etc.), but the C4 platform inherited from the old Audi 100, retained all the old "six" advantages chap. Among the undoubted advantages of the Audi A6 of the first generation is the perfectly made "perpetual" body, excellent engines, as well as a simple and insanely reliable suspension, which can be repaired independently or in the immediate service. One can not pass the fact that the Audi A6 equipped with the famous system of a full drive - Quattro
The Audi A6 comes with a fully galvanized body, with a front or full (quattro) drive, a wide range of gasoline (including double-sump) and diesel (direct injection) engines, located far ahead, with mechanical and automatic gearboxes.
All representatives of the Audi A6 / S6 series, which lasted three years on the conveyor belt, are extremely diverse. Since August 1995, the sports all-wheel drive version of Audi S6 C4 / 4A has appeared. It is distinguished by an additional emblem on the radiator grille, lowered by 20 mm body fitting due to a sporty suspension, 225/50 ZR16 low profile tires and 7,5J alloy wheels, hardened seats with especially advanced lateral support only with leather. The engines got her from the predecessor S4: the 230-strong 2.2-liter I5 (AAN) and the 290-strong 4.2-liter V8 (AVN) from the Audi V8.
Universal Avant is more like a hatchback with increased volumes - just for short trips around the city, if there is no country trailer. There are many convenient niches for "trifles", but with long trips comfortable in the cabin will be no more than four.
From its predecessor, A6 received a large number of economical, highly powerful gasoline and diesel engines, the most popular among which were gasoline V-shaped "six", which fell more than half of new car sales.
The pride of Audi is the all-wheel drive quattro version, which was presented in the A6 C4 family. We note that they are found in us quite often. The Quattro transmission, equipped with an intermediate Torsen mechanical differential, which provides a constant redistribution of torque between the front and rear wheels, is very reliable during operation, does not cause any complaints. Transmission quattro also has a forced blocking rear inter-wheel differential, which is activated with a special button directly from the inside of the cabin and allows the car to easily escape from a small dirt. When operating such versions it is necessary to change oil regularly (through 70 thousand km) in the rear gearbox. All models of the C4 platform were removed from production in the summer of 1997 in connection with the development of an entirely new Audi A6 (body 4B / platform C5).
