Audi Coupe History

Audi Coupe - model with a body "coupe", created on the basis of Audi 80.

Audi Coupe debuted in 1988. The car was equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a capacity of 115 hp. To modify the Quattro was offered a 5-cylinder engine with a turbo-supercharged power of 230 hp.

The real sporty versions of the Audi 80 appeared on the streets in January 1993 - they were the Audi S2 Coupe with a rigid sports suspension, a 230-horse in-line 2.2-liter 5-cylinder engine, six instead of a five-speed transmission and four-wheel drive, a KKK turbocharger and forced air cooling, DOHC-20V and Evo-Tech-control system. The forced engine perfectly realizes its cyclopean 380 Nm of torque in a wide range (2100-4000 1 / min).

External differences of this version were reduced to bumpers with large air intake openings, Porsche brakes (with bright red calipers) and "S2" tags. The interior has changed a lot: the variegated fabric trim of the interior with carbon applications in the interior, a different dashboard, a sports steering wheel, etc. From this period, all models (B4 series) begin to be equipped with hatches in the roof (as standard).

Produced with "more modern" lighting. Classical Azev-A alloy wheels JE-DESIGN 8.5 and 10J x 17 "dimensions" are shod in the 215 / 45-17 and 235 / 40-17 Bridgestone-Potenza-Pneus tires. The front wheels are increased by a half centimeter. -Full suspension with adjustable Coupe springs lies 60/40 inches lower.

DE-headlights and white direction indicators were introduced only from the 94th model year. In the paint halls, the lower parts of the bumpers and side plates were polished, pierced and painted in body colors. Originally chrome polished radiator grilles were polished, while they purchased the black-and-white paint from Porsche, which was also used in the design of plastic parts in the engine compartment. The drawing from Uwe Czech on the fuel filler flap and interior lighting from the Audi A6 finish the list of changes.

Audi Coupe stopped appearing in 1995, as management found it unprofitable.
