Citroen Berlingo History

Citroën Berlingo - LCV of the French company Groupe PSA. Identical to the Peugeot Partner car. The cargo modification of the latter is called the Partner, and the passenger Partner Combi (in the second generation of the Partner Tepee). In Italy it is known as Peugeot Ranch.

First generation

The first generation (in the body of the M49) appeared in 1996. With its small dimensions, good maneuverability and, at the same time, very good cargo capacities (carrying capacity from 600 to 1200 kg in three versions) and a wide range of engines, it quickly gained popularity with the main competitor Renault Kangoo. Constructively Partner has much in common with Peugeot 306, because it is based on it. In 2002, the body underwent restyling: changes were made to the front optics, grille, front bumper, instrument panel. Modernization touched both engines, both petrol and diesel (among the latter there were turbocharged versions with a working volume of 1.6 and 2 liters). The new version became known as M59. In 2004, minor cosmetic changes were also made with which the car is being manufactured to the present. After the release of the second generation (B9), the classic Partner was named Origin. The model has the following range of engines: petrol 1.4 (75 l / s), 1.6 (109 l / s); diesel 1.9 (atmospheric, 70 l / s), 1.6HDI (90 hp / s). However, the most common are 1.4 (TU3) and diesel 1.9 (DW8B).

The second generation

The second generation (B9) was officially introduced in January 2008. The car differs significantly from its predecessor in all respects, ie it is not a restyling of the old one, but an absolutely new model. Unlike Origin, it does not have versions with a carrying capacity of more than 600 kg. Most likely, it is caused by the fact that the rear suspension is not torsion bar, but the usual elastic beam on the springs, that is, as in a typical car. This provides greater comfort and smoothness, but the cargo characteristics leave much to be desired. However, we can say that this defect is compensated by cargo space larger than in Origine. The passenger version of the van is called Tepee. The basic version is equipped with a 16-valve engine from the Peugeot 307 with a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 109 l / s. By the way, this engine is quite reliable and easy to maintain. There is also a 1.6HDI turbodiesel version. This model also has a "double" - Citroen Berlingo MK2.
